Holy Basil Tea
Holy Basil tea is very good for unstopping the sinuses. It has very powerful anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antibacterial properties. It is important to thin down the mucus so that it can drain easily. Crush ten to twelve Holy Basil leaves and add them to a pan of boiling water. Simmer on a low heat for three minutes then turn off the heat. Strain a cup of this decoction and drink it several times throughout the day until you have finished the whole pan of tea.
Steam is the best way of draining the mucus and unstopping the sinuses. Boil some water in a pan. Put the pan on a table and sit at it, with a big towel draped over your head and the pan. Inhale the hot steam deeply. Keep inhaling till the steam stops emanating from the water.Your stuffy nose will clear up instantly and you will be able to breathe through the nose. The hot steam will also reduce the pain in the face and head.
Brew some black tea and drink it plain without the addition of milk or cream. Hold the mug of tea in your hands and keep sniffing the hot steam for a while before drinking the tea.The hot tea will thin the secretions and they will easily drain out either through the nose or they will go down the throat. The anti-inflammatory properties of black tea will alleviate the swelling in the sinuses and will clear airways.
Boil a cup of water and add half a teaspoon of fennel seeds to it. Simmer on a low heat for one minute the turn off the heat. After ten minutes strain the tea and drink three to four cups of it daily. Fennel will open up the nasal passages and allow the mucus to drain freely.
Mix one teaspoon of salt into two cups of warm water. Pinch your right nostril and inhale the solution with your left nostril.Tilt your head back for a few seconds then blow your nose. Repeat the process with the other nostril. All the hardened mucus and dead bacteria will be flushed out with water.
