7 Effective Home Remedies For Bee Stings

Getting stung by bee is quite a common occurrence and it is no fun. The pain from the sting lasts for 5-6 hours and can leave you uncomfortable and frustrated. It is advised that you get treated for bee sting immediately. However, before you rush to a doctor there are quite a few remedies that can be done at home for treating bee stings.

This black spot is the stinger and needs to be removed immediately to arrest the release of bee poison in the body via the blood stream.

This black spot can be scraped out using a key made from iron. You can also pull out the sting by using a pair of clean tweezers. The next step is to wash the area using medicated or mild soap and plain water. Now you can use any of the below given home remedies.

Baking Soda Paste

Take half teaspoon of baking soda and add sufficient quantity of water to prepare a thick paste. Apply the paste over the bee sting and leave for 20 minutes. Wash the area with clean water and again apply the paste.Repeat the procedure 3-4 times in a row. At the end of the day you will see a considerable improvement in the stung area. You will also not feel the pain that is associated with bee sting.

Mustard Seeds

Grind the mustard seeds and mix the powder with very little water.Dab the stung area using the mustard seeds paste. Leave on half an hour and then clean. Repeat the treatment at least 5-6 times within duration of 24 hours.

Apply organic and non-flavored honey over the bee sting. Re-apply whenever you feel the pain and burning of the sting.

Mix white vinegar with meat tenderizer to form a thick paste. Do this paste over the affected area and leave for 15 minutes. Do the treatment every couple of hours to fasten the process of healing.

Apply a generous coating of white toothpaste over the area where you have been stung by the bee and leave on for three hours.Use only non-flavored paste and not gel. Re-apply the paste as and when required. White toothpaste will soothe the skin reducing the inflammation as well as pain.

These work wonders on bee stings. Rub an ice cube over the area that has been stung by the bee. Rub for 5-10 minutes until the area turns numb. This will reduce the burning as well as the inflammation caused by the sting. You can even use a cold compress in place of ice cubes.

Sprinkle Epsom salt directly over the injury or make a paste of Epsom salt and water and apply it over the affected area.Leave on for 20 minutes.
