Keep Nasal Passage Moist
Sinus irritation usually occurs when the sinus passages become too dry. Keeping nasal passage moist by breathing warm moist air will bring relief.beacuse dry air further irritates the sinus passages. Breathing warm and moist air will help to soothe the inflamed sinus. Use a humidifier or vaporizer which helps to produce warm moist air. You can also use a warm moist cloth on your face. The warmth and moisture will help to soothe the irritated sinus passage.
Inhale Steam
Inhaling steam three or four times a day can bring relief from sinus headache by opening the blocked sinus passage. Boil water in a pan. Drape a towel over your head and inhale the steam to clear nasal congestion and help you get rid of headache. You can add 2-3 drops of eucalyptus oil or peppermint oil for better effect. Taking a hot shower may also help improve sinus drainage and bring relief from headache.
Drink Enough Fluids
Drinking plenty of water and fluids will help in thinning the mucus and thinner mucus will not get trapped inside the sinus passage.
