Improper breathing habit is one of the causes that lead to the Sinus Congestion. People in general, do not pay attention to the need of full breathing process. As a result, sinus blockage happens and creates severe anxiety and headache. Authentic massage can help you in getting rid of the sinus blockage.
Just that you must inhale and exhale enough oxygen and try to clear the wind pipe during the massages. The techniques noted in this article can be followed by yourself, or you can choose to have some assistance, which will be more effective.
Preparation For Massage
For a positive result, first choose a hard surface like floor, a bed (but without mattress) or a big table (a massage table is best). Spread a mat over the surface and lie on it with the face towards the roof. Keep your head on a pillow and close your eyes. Make yourself comfortable and take a long breath. Take few drops of oil on your palms and rub them till you feel some heat on them. Since this is a facial massage, the best oil would be either olive oil or baby massaging oil.
Different Massaging Techniques
Use Of Thumb Pads
Place the pads of the thumbs on the nose bones. These bones are of 3 to 4 inches from the nose bridge. Apply pressure with tenderness and extend the pressure from the nose bone to the eyebrows. Continue the process for 10 to 15 minutes.
Make 5 sets of such 5 extended pressures. You should start with softer pressures and increase it to a little harder push by the 5th round. There will a feeling of opening up of the sinus.
Pressure On The Nose
Take some oil on your palms and rub them till you feel the heat. Fold your hands like a Hindu prayer position. Lock your fingers by crossing them over each other. Place the area between the thumb and the wrist, on the nose bridge and try to touch the corner of eyes.
Now gently come down to the tip of the nose. Make sure that the nose feels the warmness of your palm. Rub your palms more and repeat the process for 8 to 10 times. You will feel the difference.
Massage On Forehead
Roll the tip of your index finger on the two ends of the forehead, like ‘O’. Then slowly move to the temple of the forehead and lead your fingers from the temple to the tip of the nose, driving the finger through the corners of the eyes. Go across the cheeck bones and reach the chin and then release the fingers slowly.
Repeat the process for 10 to 15 times. Try to make the ‘O’s smoothly and slowly. The movement of the fingers should be little hard, but just like writing on a blackboard. You will feel at ease.
Always remember to stay calm
whenever you have Sinus congestion. Try to dedicate sometime in taking full breath-ins and breath-outs, everyday. This is a long term process and is very effective. Always have a nice shower after these massages and give your eyes some rest; an hour at the least.
